Marley & Me

I just finished reading the book Marley and Me about a week ago. I had never read this book before and had originally thought that it was about an old lady and a dog---which didn't really interest me at the time, plus when it came out I wasn't really into reading for pleasure. Recently I had seen a preview that it was coming to be a movie, how interesting I thought. So then I was watching Oprah and Jennifer Anniston was on promoting her new movie "Marley and Me". I immediately wanted to read the book before I saw the movie since it looked really cute. I borrowed the book from a Friend and started reading it on Thursday and then the next week I was done. It was such an easy read. A very heartwarming book. And yes I did cry a couple of times. But I definitely could relate to the book since I too had an elderly dog that could barely get up from the ground because of bad hips. My dog Genie was the best dog ever--not a terror like Marley. I am actually curious to see how the movie pans out and takes on the story. I will definitely be giving my money to go see it when it comes out.

My next book is P.S. I love you! Though I didn't realize how big of a book it was until the library lady brought it to me! Yikes! I hope it is an easy read.

52. Go to a winery

One of my fave wineries.

Another fave.

As part of our Valentine's getaway we did our own wine tour and it was so much fun! We went to a few place on Saturday and a few on Sunday on the way back to Austin. The wineries we went to were, in order of likeness: Chisolm Trail Winery, Fredericksburg Winery, Torre di Pietra, Becker Winery, Bell Mountain Winery, Grape Creek Winery, Driftwood Winery, Woodrose. I think that is all of them. I am definitely addicted to wineries now!

53. Go to a bed and breakfast

The front of the house.

The gate to our patio. We stayed in the Planters Suite.

Our private entrance with patio.

For Valentine's Day Jeff wanted to surprise me. So he put together a weekend trip to Fredericksburg, TX. We stayed in the cutest bed and breakfast. We stayed at Town Creek Bed and Breakfast. When we got there we really didn't know where to go or what to do. Jeff was not told check in procedures when he made the reservation. We walk up to what we think is the 'office' and ring the bell. The door was the first door in the front of the house by the 'Town Creek B & B' sign. There are lights on and people talking. A man opens the door and Jeff proceeds to step in and the man kind of gives Jeff a weird 'what the hell are you doing' look. Jeff responds with 'oh I am looking for the office' and the people who are in their (having a grand ol' time) tells us it's around the corner. So we walk around the house through the house and there is no other sign of life. Finally Jeff went back to ask the other people in that room where we could go to find our room. Finally Jeff finds out that our room is on the other side of the house. A very cute, romantic little room with a huge bed, wine glasses! and a small bath. It was such a quaint little room on the back end of the house, with no one else around us. It had a private entrance and a cute patio in the front which we could sit at. It was a little weird going to eat breakfast as you sit there with a bunch of strangers at a table trying to make small talk, yet all you want to do is eat the most yummiest breakfast you've ever had! It definitely beats continental! I would definitely stay at others as well.

37. Cook one new meal a month (2/12)

For Valentine's Day it was my duty to cook a delicious meal. And I prevailed. I made the best meal that I have ever made!
I made Zucchini and Mozzarella Pasta and Spinach Stuffed Chicken. I was soooo good.

The pasta recipe was from here and the Spinach Stuffed Chicken was from here.

Here are some pics of how it turned out.

97. Go to Trail of Lights

I had totally forgot about this one since we were pretty busy last month until up to when we left for Florida. We got to go to the Trail of Lights. It was real neat to see all the lights and overall it was a great experience and I hope to keep going every year. The absolute best part was spinning under the big lighted tree. It was so much fun and Jeff and I felt like kids again!

27. Read Fat Blast & 7. Buy and scale and use it

Reading it and hating it! It is really hard eating only what it tells you to. Hopefully we will see results!

We also bought a scale and we are using it!

22. Read 5 books (1/5)

Over the holiday I read a GREAT book, First Comes Love by Whitney Lyles. It is a great chick book about getting ready for a baby. Very funny and highly recommended!
